Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to co-ordinate the delivery of non-occupational  health, wellness and disability management services to CIG clients. The Specialist reports to the Supervisor, Health & Disability and supports Ottawa Office Consultants in their efforts to extend Disability Management services to CIG clients.


Health Professional such as a Registered Practical Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Kinesiologist, with additional training in occupational health, preferably with accreditation as a Certified Disability Management Professional or other Health related qualifications;

  • Five years of experience with claims management in group disability benefits and Workplace Safety and Insurance legislation;
  • Experience in return to work programs;
  • Knowledge of pertinent legislations;
  • Experience in ergonomic evaluations and/or physical demands job analyses would be an asset;
  • Experience in providing auditing would be an asset;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in French and English;
  • In-depth knowledge of software such as Word, Excel and Power Point;
  • Ability to work with different groups such as employers, union representatives and health care workers;
  • Ability to perform oral presentations and clinics
  • Ability to define problems, manage information, perform analysis and propose pertinent solutions;
  • Own a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
