Operations Manager, Wealth Management

Job Summary: 

Reporting to the Director, Wealth Management, the Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and daily administration and management of our Wealth Management offices and staff.   This individual will play a pivotal role in implementing and reviewing administrative procedures and protocols within the Wealth Management division. The successful candidate will ensure compliance regulations are adhered to, manage and report on the financial, human resources and operational issues and work closely with the Director, Wealth Management and Leadership team to collaborate on strategic initiatives and projects. The incumbent will be accountable for the efficiency and effectiveness of the operational structure for wealth management including:

  • Manage overall client service excellence;
  • Responsible for overall administration and ongoing advisor support;
  • Resolve and address escalated client issues and inquires;
  • Manage staff inquiries and daily operations;
  • Ensure compliance standards and regulations are maintained;
  • Financial and operational reporting;
  • Management and maintenance of carrier contracting;
  • Coordination of licensing requirements;
  • Ongoing collaboration with the Director, Wealth Mgmt on strategic initiatives and projects.           


  • 5-7 years management experience in the financial services sector;
  • Previous compliance or related experience at an investment or insurance firm;
  • Previous sales experience in the financial services sector an asset;
  • Life & Accident license or ability to obtain;
  • Mutual Funds and Branch Managers licenses or ability to obtain;
  • University degree, College Diploma or equivalent;
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong leader with the demonstrated ability to execute on important initiatives and consistently meet or exceed performance expectations;
  • Ability to balance time pressures and deadlines with conflicting demands;
  • Ability to travel – have valid driver’s license;
  • Communication – Positive and collaborative approach to team work; Effective listener; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and advisors and their assistants; Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic; Excellent phone etiquette; critical thinking, relationship management and project management skills;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
